Why I wrote Live Life Yummie to be Accessible by Design

Thoughtful ideas, warm storytelling and a book designed to be lived, not just read.

I wrote Live Life Yummie to be accessible by design.

I wanted to create a book that people could comfortably read over a weekend or in a few sittings, recognising the reality of how many of us read today. Life is busy, our attention is constantly pulled in different directions, and I believe meaningful ideas should be accessible to everyone, not just those with endless time to read.

Writing accessibly isn’t about simplifying ideas; it’s about expressing them with clarity, warmth and humanity. I love bringing together research, enduring ideas, creative storytelling and contemporary thinking in a way that’s engaging, relatable and easy to apply in everyday life. My hope is that this book welcomes a wide range of readers, whether you read every day, every week, or are picking up your first book in years.

At its heart, Live Life Yummie brings together enduring ideas about food, pleasure, ritual, connection and wellbeing with contemporary insights into technology, human behaviour and modern life. It explores not only what helps us flourish today, but also the habits, mindsets and technologies that will shape how we live well in the years ahead.

Above all, I wanted reading Live Life Yummie to be a pleasure. After all, that’s the Yummietarian way. A book you could curl up with over a weekend, on a flight, take on holiday, leave on the kitchen table, dip back into whenever you need it, and perhaps even pass on to someone you love.

Whether you finish it in a few sittings or over more time, I’ll be delighted. My greatest hope, though, is that its ideas stay with you long after you’ve turned the final page.
